It's Summer Time -- Happy Travels

Summer is in full swing, and it's getting harder and harder to focus on work. My mind constantly wanders off to possible destinations for my next vacation. I'm thinking a two-week European getaway -- Barcelona for the architecture, Provence and French Riviera for some great food and relaxation by the beach and finally London for some shopping and Broadway shows.

It's getting easier than ever to plan a vacation with the help of Yahoo! Search. Whether you're a budget traveler or a luxury traveler, you can quickly find the right hotel. After a quick search using 'Hotels Barcelona,' prices look pretty affordable.

But for me, I'm somewhere in the middle. I can't rough it in hostels but I'm also not willing to pay premium prices for a 5 star hotel. So, I started by checking the 4 star hotels that came up in my Yahoo! Shortcuts results, hoping to find something nice for around $150. Thanks to Yahoo! Travel, the narrowed results gave me the photos, reviews and prices all in one place, which makes the process of choosing a hotel much easier.

Another great way to save time is to go with a trusted name. For the London portion of my trip, I searched for 'Hilton London' in Yahoo! Search and came up with this helpful Shortcut.

The third option I clicked on looks pretty promising -- near a Tube stop, good user ratings, almost within desired price range, and the photos look great!

Two searches on Yahoo! Search and I've knocked out two major destinations on my list. Now, I just need to get a feel for Provence and the French Riviera. My vacation planning is coming along nicely!

Wherever your travels may take you -- Shanghai, Florence, or New York -- try finding the perfect hotel for your next trip on Yahoo! Search. Try hotels Shanghai, hotels Florence or hotels New York.

Happy travels!

When searching for hotels New York, the first three results I get are spam pages:
new-york-hotels.hotel-4vacation.com
hotello.freewebspace.com/hotel-new-york.html
hometown.aol.com/elsejunina0731/new-york-hotels.html

I guess it's one way to force people to use Yahoo shortcuts... ;-P

and in the meantime...the weather is aweful in the UK!

Every time when it comes to traveling, I tend to do my research using sites such as Expedia, Travelocity...etc. I think this will be a great alternative for me.

Yes the travel sites seem to be heavily spamed, also came across a alternative to hotels serviced apartments. Check them out

This might not be a good time to travel to Uk with all the terrorist attack attempts.... but there are 111 results between $15-$45..thats cheap..

This should help travelers finding a good deal in snap. Thanks.

Expedia is very useful but you have to sign in and all that. With this new feature, it should but the time in half on finding travel packages.

Those interior pictures for the hotels would be a perfect addition on deciding where you will stay.....

Travel, Summer, Sun, Sand, RELAX What more could be all be looking for. Some great ideas here!

We have been telling our clients about this service while they were planning their trips to New York City, we have gotten pretty good feedback from several of them.

And don't forget there are alternatives to hotels. There are vacation rentals pretty much anywhere you might want to go.

Awesome.....Summer is great! I love this search feature for hotels also..Happy summer everyone :)

Its true that travel sites seem to be heavily spamed. When I am searching for hotels New York, then first three results I got are spamed.
I want to give you important info that Polls say that gas prices will not affect summer travel. Is it true?

Good to see a new alternative to Expedia.I will be using for my winter hols.

I did not know that Yahoo! Search is so powerful like this. Thanks for the tips

Yahoo is always providing great results from what I can see. What do you mean you didnt know?

We also visited Spain this summer - Barcelona, we used Expedia, but from now on I will try Yahoo as well.
