Earlier last month we told you about our testing of a content exploration module that we call “Infinite Browse” internally. We’ve rolled out the module in the past week and have seen a significant increase in user engagement on news article pages.
We’ve improved the design of the module since you’ve seen it in our testing phase, displaying all related content right on the module and using a scrollable carousel-style design.
We’ve also made significant behind-the-scenes improvements in the way we select related content to show in the module, resulting in higher quality, more relevant articles, videos and images. In the past few days, our internal evaluation so far shows that we’ve more than doubled the click through rate (CTR) with the new module.
We hope this module will help you find the information you need about topics in the news. We will be bringing you more search-related enhancements in the coming weeks so stayed tuned.
