It's goo to know that Yahoo researchers are leading the way and also sharing their results with the community. Isome times get quite concerned about the power and responsibilty that the large search engines have. I hope they use it wisely

I can see great potential in the future of search. Yahoo leads the field in search that is local and will remain as long as there is an appreciation that all search is local. Will Yahoo be expanding its reach into video coupled with organic search?

Why is it that Yahoo no longer provides access to Yahoo games especially
literati and textwist which people enjoyed. Also it is no longer
satisfactory with e-mail and is now a waste of time.?

@John
Crawlers, spiders and Ranking algorithms are changing and providing more releavant results ;)

Yahoo! Search Monkey, Google subscribed links and (COOP) Custom Search are preparing a new generation of auxiliary engines !

The biggest problem is that Search Engines are helping monopolism ! Giving advantage to Volume, Pagerank, TrustRank, Popularity... and that could be a big problem !

Everybody knows the impact of DMOZ listings (The Open Directory Project) on search Ranking ! Nowdays, I'm discovering some editors listing some websites without respecting rules :(

I think the web need some categorization ! We need a project to fight spammers :(
