The array of images available on the Web can be both a great resource and a daunting challenge. So, based on recent user tests, The Yahoo! Image Search team built new filters to make searching for images on the Web easier and faster.
This new set of filters helps you find what you want quickly, whether you are looking for black and white photographs of flowers, a sunset wallpaper, or images on Flickr. With the new Image Search filters, you can narrow down image results by color or black and white, by size, or even by specifying dimensions for the image results. You can also choose whether the images come from Flickr.
These filters are just the first improvements we will be rolling out in the coming months for Image Search. Stay tuned for more features that will make finding what you’re looking for a breeze.

It would be useful if you could include a simple way to search for images which can be freely used on websites and other publications. Creative Commons stuff is obviously a good start, but there are many websites containing images which are freely available for use and having a central search option to go through them all would be a nice touch.
I’ve always wanted more control over the image search results. This looks like a great start.
Useful features, but they exist everywhere, so nothing new here. There is the holy grail of search by images themselves, not by tags or some logical parameters. Some companies like http://www.ideeinc.com or http://www.recogmission.com are focused on this. Are you guys at Yahoo going to do something, which is different from what Google did a hundred years ago? :)
It would be lovely to have a “Creative Commons” option there (I see “Marky” above has also mentioned this).
