Weather Report: Yahoo! Search Index Update

We’ve rolled out some changes to our index with fresh web data and updates to our crawling, indexing, and ranking algorithms over the last few days. We have had two updates since last November: one in December, 2008, and another in late January this year. We expect the update will be completed very soon. Throughout this process you may see some changes in ranking as well as some shuffling of the pages in the index.
While we didn’t do Weather Reports for the December and January updates, we heard loud and clear that the community still finds them helpful, so we’ll continue to provide these reports.

Always nice to get some feedback. If only after 3 years I can get my site back in even though I was told I had no penalty. I guess a few more years of waiting won’t hurt too much.
Can’t resolve correct Chinese fonts in:
http://tw.search.yahoo.com/search?p=(Some Chinese Font)
or
http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=(Some Chinese Font)
before 3 days ago, this funtion can run correctly,
BUT NOW CAN’T.
Sometimes I just quick to search words, do not enter Yahoo homepage
(My computer is slow)
so quick to search to yahoo is important and friendly to me.
About three month or more, this function is not work correctly ,too.
but after, it runs ok… still now….it can’t work right again.
(Before 1 yr ago, http://tw.search.yahoo.com/search?p=(Some Chinese Font)
is right OK. Now, the Chinese font will turn to strange font,can not identified in correct fonts. it will turn to like \!@PSa4\ oe something

May be that’s the reason my website is getting lot of hits in search from Yahoo…

We are hearing mixed reviews from our clients. Our search volume on Yahoo has not increased. However we have clients who have picked up hundreds of visits on average per day. Perhaps this new update will be conducive to long term success.

Yeah weather is something that might not sound like a big deal but you will see that people will chime in everyday to see what they can expect.

Good to see Yahoo! updated their search index algorithm and I saw the slight increases on my site traffics too

But are these change perform crawling ! Yahoo! should be faster :-)
