Yahoo! Search Blog Offline for Site Maintenance
We wanted to give our loyal readers a heads up that tomorrow we’ll be making some backend updates to the Yahoo! Search Blog. If you come by for a visit and notice that the site is down, don’t be alarmed – we’re not going anywhere. We’ll be taking the blog offline early tomorrow morning and should be back up within an hour or two.

Yahoo.com, my yahoo and yahoo mail has been going offline every evening until around 9AM the next day. What is going on? As a shareholder I am very concerned that you would do such a thing without warning leaving folks who depend on your services stranded because of no advance notice.
Surely a blunt 500 response is not the ideal behavior for a sophisticated Internet company like Yahoo! That’s how this site responded this morning. You’d think some kind of page indicating maintenance would be displayed instead.
I have not been able to access Yahoo since yesterday (Herts UK) are they offline? As with the writer above I am very dissapoined that there has been no message to inform what is going on. Is anyone else having the same problem or knows what is going on?
I am stuffed as all my email addresses are on yahoo and I do not have a back up for them.
