Weather Report: Yahoo! Search Index Update
Welcome to our first weather report of 2008. Over the last few days, we’ve been rolling out some changes to our crawling, indexing and ranking algorithms. While we expect the update will be completed soon, as you know, throughout this process you may see some ranking changes and page shuffling in the index.

Yahoo! Search

Last few days… hmmm… I don’t see any change in the listing. Its seems to be the same. I will keep a close eye on the results… any one else?
Thank you for the update. Any comments on what changes we might see in the new algo?
most of my rankings have remained the same over the past week, only a couple of noticable drops. did better with the last update!
I’ve seen quite a bit of ranking changes in the Yahoo! Directory — maybe that’s where most of the updates have been.
I’ve noticed more international sites being integrated into the natural listings. Although with so many companies doing Paid Inclusion, kind of hard to see any drastic change.
I’ve noticed some positive ranking changes for most of our sites. It looks like Yahoo is starting to reward the webmasters who play by the rules!

The results look like the search team is part of the workforce layoff!
Beginning to see the effects of the new algos, now.
They are interesting. Perhaps the click tracking will be a measure of satisfaction more than any anecdotal comment on this page.
The SERPs do seem to be slightly more diverse - with less major sites occupying the top positions
I’ve noticed for a few of my keywords, that I’ve increased rankings by about 1 page or so.
Yahoo! has optimized indeed. Thanks for moving me from #5 to #4, just right below wikipedia. å æ²¹!
For link spamming sites seems to work well for them. Don’t see any improvements in yahoo. Maybe this is just canada results but they are horrible.
I’m just below the multi million budget guys…
Quite nice for a $20 budget webmaster…
I also gonna say that Yahoo Food is a tragedy for me……

Gino,
Weather Report for Central America is dry and very high cloudes, some wind some times and some hot temps, but beautiful, a lot of people swiming at the beaches and taking a nice brown color too. Sumer is at the middle and we don’t expect any rain for a wile.
We want to take the opportunity and ask everyone to come ovr http://www.solidamerica.com and learn how to become a nature savior, by voting for THE COCO ISLAND fron COSTA RICA. In the middle of front page ” Home” you will find the link to how to vote.
Thanks.
I have not noticed much difference compare to earlier when I compare ranking positions of my website.
Two of the keywords got second position to first while one keyword is got from fourth to fifth.
Couldn’t you put a bunch of people on removing the main spam sites? Thanks!
not much changes for my site rangking but I do notice there is a country radio button below the search box.
I have also noticed for a few of my keywords, link seo company India that increased rankings.
Nothing drastic here I guess because I haven’t noticed much of a change at all. Maybe next time!

I haven’t noticed big changes. There will probably be bigger changes if the Microsoft - Yahoo deal goes through.
I have not noticed a change. Anyone else?

I am not very happy with results for some keywords. It seems that a lot blackhat promo websites are still on top10 like website from myspace and friendster.
Thanks for the info on Yahoo’s update…….I will be monitoring the situation
I’ve noticed for a few of my keywords, that I’ve increased rankings by about 1 page or so.
Very interesting. This does explain some ranking changes I noticed a while back. I had attributed it to some other efforts, but I’ll factor this in as well now.
More chandes are needed. Each website need to be crawled several times each day for improved web use.
Not really noticed many changes however Yahoo still putting a lot of weighting on domain names.
I’m still hoping Yahoo will notice the sites that are working hard on new content and linking instaed of some of these new guys who seem to jump straight up the rankings

April 30th. My entire site has been de-indexed from Yahoo. GG
I’ve seen quite a bit of ranking changes in the Yahoo! Directory
Yahoo Site Explorer is undoubtedly the most effective tool for link analysis and indexing that no other competitor can compete.
A year has gone by, and Yahoo hasn’t crawled my site at all…G and MSN both picked it up within a couple of weeks
There will probably be bigger changes if the Microsoft - Yahoo deal goes through.
Maybe i’m one of the few, but i still prefer the yahoo search and not the google one. Many times i search things related to computers, that i only can find at yahoo and not google.
Every change in the yahoo algorithm it’s good, but only if it give us some improvements.
haven’t noticed any far reaching changes in terms of relevant content or more established sites getting higher value
It looks like Yahoo is starting to reward the webmasters who play by the rules! Thank you for update.
