Site Explorer Counts Resolved

  • Posted November 6th, 2007 at 8:52 am by Yahoo! Search

Last week we announced that we were working on a fix to correct discrepancies in the page and inlink data counts. The good news is that the fix is now complete. You should see consistent page and inline counts in Site Explorer, whether you’re logged in or logged out.

Try a query in Site Explorer to confirm. As always, let us know your feedback.

Hey Yahoo, can you guys delete the Xanga spam from the following keywords: cheap car insurance, home insurance, cheap auto insurance, home insurance quotes, online home insurance, and affordable health insurance. This one guys is spamming all the insurance keywords with the same basic spam technique.

Hey guys,
Its wonderful! I made a post to a WP blog on 26th November and its noted the next day itself. I didn’t check enough – perhaps it got explored the same day. That’s excellent tracking. Please accept my compliments.

I’m confused. I thought the inliks were only associated with the pages that connect to the the website. I noticed many pages referenced in the listing that were directly associated with the domain.

I didn’t notice this problem before, but it is great that Yahoo fixed it. I think I’ve seen some references to it on forums, but really was not paying attention. SERP counts, everything else is secondary ;) ..

Thanks, we saw the variations on our promotional products site but they’ve now stabilized.

The page counts for the site I am looking at always seem different by two between the front page and any of the following pages (e.g. 921 then 919). Is this to be expected?

Yahoo has been doing good for quiet sometime, especially for webmasters. Site explorer is a wonderful tool to help webmasters who had been looking for such a tool in Yahoo.

I just checked out links for my website

it shows the pages which I have “now” added as excluded pages in robots.txt … earlier I was using wordpress.com as webhost where I wasn’t able to add any robots.txt

Shouldn’t they be removed from the site links??

Also when I try to manually remove those urls.. It says only 25 urls can be deleted per site.. Isn’t that a rule which is not required ?
