Well personally I think Yahoo Answers is an AMAZING concept. BUT, it is being ruined by people who post stupid questions or questions that can be easily resolved with a simple search.

In fact that is the reason why Yahoo shows search results when you type a question! And it also shows similar questions recently as you type your question. This was done as users posted duplicates of stupid questions.

I am head admin at Scrabulous - http://www.scrabulous.com - where users can play Scrabble online. I answered a few questions about Scrabble online and the next day I get the same questions by new users! These are the types who spoil the site sometimes.

Yahoo! Answers is such a wonderful idea that its a real shame to see lazy and illiterate users ruining it. It seems near 99% of posted questions are either logically unanswerable, so poorly written as to be incomprehensible, or are obviously the work of kids looking to get strangers to finish their homework assignments for them. I signed up tonight, I answered a few questions, but after wading through so many horrible questions I can't take anymore so I won't be back.

If you find a way to raise the level of discourse beyond junior high levels can you please let me know? The greates success of Yahoo! Answers that I can see is that it shreds to pieces that old silly maxim that there's no such thing as a stupid question. On Yahoo! Answers there are literally thousands of painfully stupid questions. Sad.

You must be kidding. Take a look at the level of questions and answers (see "browse resolved questions"). Stupid, and weird.

Congratulations guys, it's a great service that has answered some of my questions and puts a human touch on a search industry that seems at times to be dry and overly algorithmic.
