Yahoo! Toolbar for Mozilla Firefox, reloaded
Firefox and Yahoo! fans take note. Mozilla.org released Firefox 1.5 last November and is gaining converts faster than ever. The Yahoo! Firefox Toolbar 1.0 worked well with Firefox 1.5, and since that release launched, we’ve been working hard to fix a few things and add some Yahoo! features to the menu. You’ll see them when you click your right mouse button.
No matter where you are on the Web, with that mouse click you can:
- Search for information using Yahoo! Search
- Share information via Email, Messenger, and 360′
- Save what you’re seeing to My Web or Yahoo! Bookmarks
- And more

P.S. - If you haven’t already tried it, take a look at the Delicious Firefox extension that lets you manage your Delicious account from anywhere on the web.
One other quick (and cool) note. The 1.1 Toolbar adds a context submenu, so even if you don’t need/want another full toolbar/search box, you can install it, hide it from the active display and still get a bunch of on-demand Y! goodness.

The search functionality still opens the results in a new page unlike the IE toolbar. When are FF users going to get the same search same page pop-up ?
Argh. I installed Yahoo toolbar on Firefox (osX) and now it has taken over my browser, a bit. You know when you leave off the “http://”, and the “www”, and the “.com” when you’re typing in the address field? So, if you want to go to apple.com, you just type apple. Well, now, it does a yahoo keyword search. This would be fine if it didn’t happen *after” unistalling the toolbar! How do I get rid of that function?
Sounds like previous commentor was using “I’m Feeling Lucky”. Try this to make Firefox do what it used to do:
1) Open a new browser window and type “about:config” in the address bar
2) Type “keyword” into the “Filter” field
3) Double-click on the “keyword.URL” line to open a dialog box to change the setting
4) Copy “http://www.google.com/search?btnI=I%27m+Feeling+Lucky&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=” and paste it into the dialog
5) Click OK
The icons candy keeps getting improving.
Does Yahoo plan to make something like Custom Buttons of Google Toolbar? This is very handy feature - for example now I can access to Yahoo search from Google Toolbar :-), see http://www.irnis.net/soft/gtbb/
Oh I like the toolbar very much!
I prefer it instead of Googles.
Of course I already have the newest version.

I have a yahoo home page.
I’m not a fan of toolbars and I want to keep mine from coming back. I thought one I deleted and then chose to “Lock Toolbar,” it wouldn’t appear again. BUT IT KEEPS COMING BACK!
How do I get rid of it permanently?
To remove the IE version, use the Add/Remove Programs control panel.
To remove the Firefox version, use the Extension Manager under the “Tools” menu in Firefox.
The firefox is the best. I think everybody agrees to that.
But i cant decide wether the yahoo or google toolbar is better. Sometimes im not too happy with the search results of both searchengines, so i cant decide.
What do you prefer?
