Yahoo! Sponsored Search: Get Started for Less

As you may remember, back in October, Yahoo! Search Marketing eliminated the minimum spending requirement for US advertisers’ sponsored search campaigns. Now we’ve taken one more step to making advertising with Yahoo! easier and more convenient – we lowered the minimum deposit from $30 to $5 for US advertisers.

That means now is a great time to get started with Yahoo! Sponsored Search and join a growing network of more than 100,000 advertisers. You can start with a deposit of as little as $5 and use it to pay for the click-through charges for your campaigns. After your initial deposit, you spend as much or as little as you like each month based on the keywords you select and how much you bid for each one. Through Yahoo! Search Marketing, advertisers can reach over 80% of users online for as little as 10 cents per click. And of course, with Yahoo! an advertiser pays only when a user clicks.

That’s it for now – please leave us a comment if you’d like further information or have any feedback for us.

Thanks!

Sr. Director, Global Product Management, Yahoo! Search Marketing

This is a great announcement.

Following on the heels of removing the minimum spend, you’re really inviting small businesses to try out your product – a very welcome change to the page few years.

Hope you make it to the next conference, haven’t had a chance to catch up with you for a while.

enjoy.

i agree this is great news. however, i would suggest one more tweak…please try to reduce the time that an ad an go live. very frustrating when trying to tweak campaigns…google allows immediate change and then they will edit later if need be…this is much more conducive to attracting new advertisers.

I am a small business owner and have been participating in Google Adwords for the past almost 3 years. Never went to yahoo because of the minimum monthly spend, but now this is great news.

but I am alarmed by the other post that you cannot edit your campaigns easily..? Is that so? how long will it take before your changes appear?? I almost signed up, but now I am hesitant again…

I run several adwords campaigns and constantly tweak settings because you need to. Many site owners will agree with this..

Considering that there used to be a minimum spend of $20.00 even if the advertiser did not make any sale, this change is truly refreshing. I also believe this move by Yahoo will prove to eventually be more profitable to the company, as more small businesses will gravitate towards Yahoo search marketing. Browse the link to see more useful reasons why I believe the new Yahoo concept will work.
