Yahoo! Search on the Road in June

I was just looking at the conference schedule and realized we’re
going to be out and about quite a bit this month. Here’s quick
(possibly incomplete) list of where we’re going to be:

If you’re planning to attend any of those, be sure to stop by and
say hello.

  1. Hey Jeremy!

Do you guys have international conferences as well? I would definitly be going if you had something in Paris.
Also do you sometimes meet other Yahoo! departments around the world for example?

  2. Of course we visit international conferences. I’ll post again when we have more on the schedule. You’ll see some from other countries then.

I don’t know if there will be any in Paris soon, but it’d be nice. I’ve never been to Paris. :-)

  3. Well, I can speak for the Paris guys. They were top notch when I visited, definitely worth visiting, and not just for the food.

  4. Hi Jeremy,

I will be attending the WMW New Orleans conference in June, and was wondering if the Y! Search Team has any sponsored ‘receptions’ planned to meet, greet, and talk shop with the webmaster attendees?

  5. Brian: Watch the search blog as we get closer to the conference…

  6. Yahoo! Mail will also be represented at the MAAWG conference in Dusseldorf, Germany June 21-23, and perhaps at the IETF meeting in Paris July 31 to Aug 5.

  7. Jeremy,

It saddens me that whenever I search yahoo with any unique phrase from my site, all that is returned are the plagarisers and scrappers benefiting from my work.

I know I must have been hand penalised, whether thats because I have no meta tags or too many affiliate links I don’t know, and yet your web answers team are quite happy to link to me for further information.

The only traffic left is from your image search, and to add insult to injury they are mostly automated processes trying to grab as much imagery as they can.

I won’t be at the above conferences but can you offer any advice.

  8. Lee:

You’ve offered no specifics that I can use to find you some help!

  9. What specifics would you need?

  10. Off the top of my head: the search terms and the address of your site.

  11. Okay. Should I email them rather than going too off topic for this thread.

  12. Please do.

  13. Thanks, its really appreciated and says loads.

  14. Thanks for the infos Miles, I’ll probly be going to that Paris conference if the Yahoo Mail team is over there. I guess I’m going to make searches about that right now.
