AV/ATW and Video Search

We’ve seen people commenting on the similarities between AllTheWeb & AltaVista video search and the just released Yahoo! Video Search beta. Those observations are correct: we’ve made a number of improvements to the Yahoo! Search infrastructure and index as part of the video search beta rollout (not to mention adding RSS support) and ATW, AV and other sites we supply video search results for are now benefiting from that.
Please keep the feedback coming!

Andy, your new search engine looks great but here is something to consider. I will be distributing hours of new, free content every month for mobile media starting early next year. The off-line distribution means no cost in bandwidth and a regular supply of cool “push” content to mobile users. I would like to submit to your search engine but the huge collection of content is not online. How can I participate? Throw short video trailers on my site or is there a better way?
Tom: If you’re not using the Internet to distribute your video content (I checked out your website and it looks like you’re distributing your content on CD-ROMs and CF/SD/MS cards), then one approach you might try is to post short ‘teaser’ trailers of your content on your site, and post a Media RSS feed of the latest trailers. This would be a good way to start using Media RSS to spur additional sales of your content.
