This is great. I'm glad to see the Yahoo! tool finally out so that I can eval it. I just hope all the different desktop search tools I have whirring on my desktop agree with each other. My company, Viapoint (www.viapoint.com), is evaluating integrating smart organization as a plug-in to the desktop search tools. We are looking at Yahoo! as a next step after a release we have planned with Google Desktop Search.

Anyone remember Enfish? I was thrilled by it, but it never seemed to have caught on. At last, the public seems ready.

This is good news. However, I'm really surprised you didn't go with much better products like Blinkx or Copernic. X1 is crashing all the time and takes over 100MB of RAM.

Absolutely competition is good. Otherwise how else would google figure out how to improve their product?

That is cool to hear. I wonder if it will be as good as Google's?

Not to spite you guys...but we need competition here in the market. That's what makes it great! That is why we have Democrats and Republicans...with third parties here and there.

With Yahoo!, Google, and...well...microsoft too (when will their destop search come out...does anybody know?) joining the fray (not to mention a host of others) it will be a good thing for the customers. Selah!
